Mother London is an independent creative company headquartered in Shoreditch, London. Founded in 1996, they have grown to over 500 staff across offices in London, New York, Los Angeles and Shanghai. Once a biscuit factory, the converted warehouse was designed by Clive Wilkinson Architects and boasts 4 floors of unconventional workspace.
We had the pleasure of working with the main contractor AW Spaces to create this unique, one-off workplace.
Our responsibility was to deliver the mechanical and electrical design and installation.
This involved designing and installing new lighting in steel conduit, feature lighting to arch desk and offices, mood lighting to cinema room and new lighting in the bathroom areas.
We made a number of power alterations to suit new desk layouts and added in hanging sockets for all desks, a beautiful design feature that perfectly accents the overall look and feel of the project.
We also installed a new distribution board, power and AV cabling to new wall mounted televisions, new plumbing system to the newly formed toilet area, full ventilation system to toilet area and AC wall mount units to data room and offices.
This work was crucial to enable AW Spaces to deliver their unique designs which meant that the space was cleverly divided up into several zones with the use of curtains which gives flexibility, functionality and gives the sense of a space without barriers.
Our lighting works assisted with bringing to life a stunning 18 seater cinema with original vintage folding seats and added to the retro 80’s feel of the newly designed bathroom areas for the team at Mother London.
Our Project team focussed on understanding the overall look and feel that the client was trying to achieve and worked hard to support AW Spaces in delivering this, a fantastic collaboration that has resulted in a truly unique workspace being created. See our Projects page for further images.
